SEVERAL armed robberies, including one in which the victim was attacked with a metal pole, are among Wyndham’s unsolved crimes of 2010.
As the New Year arrived, Victoria Police appealed for anyone with information about the incidents to contact Crime Stoppers.
Police hope to solve an armed robbery which occurred 10 February at about 12.50am, in Powell Drive, Hoppers Crossing.
After the victim refused to hand over his wallet to one man, a second male hit him from behind with a metal pole.
When the man fell onto the ground, the robbers continued to assault him and took his wallet, then ran to a waiting sedan and drove away.
Another man was assaulted in Hoppers Crossing earlier in the year, on 10 January in Morris Rd.
He was approached by three other males, described as of Islander appearance, around 12.20am.
One of the men allegedly produced a knife and demanded the man hand over his property.
The victim was struck in the head and his bag and wallet were stolen.
Police have also appealed for information about armed robberies at Wyndham retail businesses, including an attempted robbery in Werribee.
Staff at a Synnot St convenience store were allegedly threatened staff with a gun and knife at about 1.15am on 28 May, by a male demanding cash.
Another case involved employees at a Tarneit pharmacy, who were threatened with a screwdriver on 25 June.
The robber also stole prescription medication from the Sayers Rd chemist before escaping in a stolen red Ford Laser.
Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
