British India are starting 2011 on a high note

After seeing out a hectic 2010 with a series of shows in the UK to launch their first UK EP, and educating the Poms about Australian rock, the boys returned to Australia and headed straight back into the studio to begin recording new songs for 2011.
Melbourne’s own are excited to be hitting the Coolangatta Hotel on their current three-month national tour to launch their brand spankin’ new radio single ‘March into the Ocean’.
They will be joined by City Riots and Boy in a Box
British India have proved themselves the indie darlings of the Australian rock scene. In 2008 Thieves debuted at #5 in the National ARIA Album Chart and #1 in the AIR Chart; and was nominated for ‘Best Independent Release’ in both the 2008 ARIA Awards and 2008 AIR Awards.
In 2007 they released their debut album, Guillotine, which was produced by ex-Easybeat Harry Vanda. Guillotine was also nominated for Triple J’s J Award in 2007, as well as winning the AIR Award for Best New Independent Artist. Through the 11 months following the release of Guillotine, British India played to an array of sold-out shows and also at music festivals Big Day Out, Homebake, Golden Plains, The Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass, Pyramid Rock Festival, Groovin’ the Moo and Come Together Music Festival.
In April and May 2008, British India bunkered down in Sydney’s Flashpoint Studios to record their second album, Thieves. The album was released just 12 months after their debut and found massive success on the Australian national charts, entering the ARIA Album Chart at #5.
Continuing the radio success of the two previous records, their third studio album, titled Avalanche, was released in April 2010 and debuted at #10 on the ARIA Album Chart.
The Sydney Morning Herald’s Patrick Donovan gave the album a 3.5/5 rating, saying it “affirms British India’s position as one of the most solid rock bands in the country”.
