RESIDENTS are invited to take part in the second annual Brimbank Relay For Life later this year.
Expressions of interest are now open for the 2013 Relay For Life committee. The event is a great chance for residents to show their support for the community and the fight against cancer.
Last year Brimbank residents managed to raise more than $29,000 for Cancer Council Victoria.
Funds raised will be used on world-class medical research and education programs to help provide information and support to cancer sufferers and their loved ones.
Brimbank Relay For Life Volunteer Committee Chair Jeff O’Donnell is urging residents to get behind this year’s event.
“We had 19 teams participate in our first ever Relay and this year we are hoping to double that number,” Mr O’Donnell said.
“Being a volunteer committee member is a rewarding experience and it can help change the lives of local residents living with cancer.”
