RESIDENTS living near the Burbank Business Park in Altona are up in arms about a proposal to allow a helicopter to operate from the site.
Homes are located about 130 metres from the proposed helipad, to be situated in the car park of the business park.
Donna Robertson, a resident in nearby Galvin St, said the noise from a helicopter would be “disruptive, startling, frightening and deafening”.
“Burbank Homes’ helicopters will degrade the area we live in. There are young families and elderly people living in Galvin St.
“The helicopter landings will be disruptive and invasive to everyone living in the street and the surrounding area,” Ms Robertson said.
Jarrod Sanfilippo, operations manager and a helicopter pilot with Burbank, said the company had gone to great lengths, including commissioning an acoustics study by Marshall Day Acoustics, to ensure the helicopter would cause minimal disruption to local residents.
