Hobsons Bay’s young people will be the centre of attention as the community celebrates National Youth Week with a host of activities to help explore youth ideas and opinions.
Hobsons Bay mayor Angela Altair said events would be held across Australia between 5 and 14 April with Hobsons Bay City Council organising something for everyone.
“With the theme ‘Be Active. Be Happy. Be You’, National Youth Week is a perfect opportunity for young people to participate in the community, have fun and celebrate their individuality,” Cr Altair said.
“It is also the chance for the rest of the community to recognise the positive influence young people can have and promote the many wonderful things local youth are achieving each and every day.
“The council’s youth services team has worked hard on this year’s program, offering a diverse range of activities to engage young people in new opportunities. Get out and get involved.”
Hobsons Bay’s National Youth Week activities include the launch of the Kool Skools CD and the announcement of Hobsons Bay’s 25 most inspirational young people and a gaming and pizza night.
