GET ready for all the fun and attractions of a traditional village fair.
The Comboyne Village Fair is on at the Comboyne Showground on Sunday 14 September, with a packed program of events on offer.
And from now until 5 September you can buy a ticket in the ‘Great Day Out’ raffle to win a great day out on fair day, which includes a helicopter flight for two to Comboyne and return from Port Macquarie, VIP entry passes, lunch and Devonshire teas. Tickets cost $5 each and are available at the Independent newspaper office – 143 Gordon Street, Port Macquarie, Midcoast Appliances – unit 3, 11-17 Bellbowrie Street, Mud-N-Tar Motorcyles – 183 High Street Wauchope, and at the Comboyne Community Centre.
This year the fair will again play host to the Car Club Capers, a fun car event sponsored by Shannons. Members from the 17 invited car clubs will drive through town in procession, starting at around 10am. They will then participate in some fun events at the fair.
There will also be rides for the children, market stalls, wool-spinning demonstrations, art and flower displays, street market stalls, live music, a tea room, barbecue and much, much more.
You can also get a bird’s-eye view of the action if you want to as Helicopter scenic flights will operate throughout the day – a great opportunity to see the fair from above and the beautiful Comboyne plateau with spectacular views of the coastline.
