Fischer by name

Pauline Roods, John Robertson, Ron Hopper and Jim Fischer display some of the fish presented to the weigh-master.

SIX boats with 13 fishing people aboard ventured out in the Port Macquarie Blue Water Fishing Club’s outing on Sunday.
There were good ocean and weather conditions with a light to moderate nor-westerly blowing, but a strong southerly current made fishing difficult outside the 50 metre line.
Fish that greeted the weigh-master included kingfish, flathead, snapper and morwong.
Best boat on the day was Gunna skippered by Jim Fischer with 17.62 points and the runner-up was Jossie skippered by Bill Vogel with 13.06 points.
The Mid-Coast Marine award for the heaviest catch was won by Jim Fischer with 17.66 points, the Port Macquarie Blue Water Fishing Club award for the best morwong was won by Pauline Roods with a 1.20kg fish, the Port Macquarie Private Hospital most species award was won by Jim Fischer with three different species, and the Protect Pest Control prize for the best of other species was won by Pauline Roods with a pig fish weighing in at .54kg. The secret weight trophy was won by Bill Vogel. The Barry Ingram Painting Junior award was not contested.
The next outing will be the final outing for this fishing year and will be held on Sunday 29 June.
