Fire station
WORK on a new fire station in Port Macquarie will commence later this month.
Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said the new fire station would provide firefighters with state-of-the-art facilities worthy of a modern fire service.
The new station will accommodate three fire engines as well as a hazardous materials van, boat and trailer and incorporate facilities for firefighters to refill breathing cylinders.
It will also provide office space for the zone management team.
Being located within the emergency services precinct will also improve the co-ordination and co-operation between the emergency service agencies.
