HASTINGS residents will soon have a chance to hear one of the world’s best violinists play.
Born in the Central Asian republic of Uzbekistan in 1977, Attilla Sautov has played violin all his life and is now an internationally accomplished musician.
He has performed in more than 40 countries with many major orchestras. In 2005 he performed Paganini’s Violin Concerto No.2 in Conservatoire de Luxembourg, The Berlin Concert Hall, Cologne Philharmonic Hall, Dusseldorf Philharmonic Tonhalle, Philharmonic Hamburg and Munich Philharmonic. In 2006 he performed Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons in the Sydney Opera House.
Attilla is now based in Brisbane, where he teaches violin, and enjoys performing in regional centres. He will be playing some of the greatest music ever composed at a concert at Port Macquarie’s Presbyterian Church (cnr William and Munster Streets), starting at 7pm on Monday 30 June. On piano will be Valerie Dickson, who was formerly the Deputy Piano Professor at the Royal College of Music, London.
