Fourgoal romp for Keilor Park

By Adrian Ceddia
TWO goals from gun scoring machine Melanie Camilleri led Keilor Park to yet another victory in the Football Federation Victoria Women’s Premier League on the weekend.
The 40 romp over the University of Melbourne was the 14th win of the season for Keilor and helped consolidate third position on the ladder, with 43 points from 20 matches.
In cold, wet and blustery conditions, Keilor Park was expected to win all three points but it could not break the deadlock in a goalless first half.
The team came out in the second period full of running, and with Camilleri leading from the front piled on four goals to win easily.
Kylie Nicolaci and Katia Tavolaro also found the back of the net in the win, which was welcomed after the 30 loss to Box Hill the previous week.
Keilor Park plays Cranbourne and South Melbourne in the final two rounds of the season, and whatever the results will stay in third position.
Brimbank, meanwhile, was gallant in its round 20 match against competition leader Box Hill but left Wembley Park with little reward, beaten 10.
A secondhalf goal to Emma Minde was the difference between the two sides, Brimbank dropping one place to fifth on the table with the result.
Brimbank was on a threematch hot streak before the weekend, with wins over Eltham North, Bendigo and Ballarat seeing it storm into the top few places of the premier league.
Its final two assignments are against Eastern Lions at home and Ashburton away, in what will go down as a rousing success of a season for its first try at the top flight.
