That is why a group of Caroline Springs and Burnside mothers and their children meet each week to connect and interact with one another.
The Mother’s Network of Caroline Springs and Burnside gives first time mums, or even mums with a car full of children, the chance to unwind, chat and offer advice to one another.
President Deborah Watson said mums can often become lonely at home despite the constant chatter and babble of little ones, and the group provides women with a social outlet and a chance to talk about their children to other mums.
“Mothers are really hard on themselves,” Mrs Watson said.
“But when you speak to other mums who have been there you can come up with strategies to help you cope.”
The mother-of-two said the group also gave youngsters a chance to play and interact with each other and build confidence in pre-school years.
Established seven years ago the group is now thriving and offers a kinder program for tots. They will be holding a market on Saturday, 23 October at Springside Community Centre from 10am. Anyone interested in being a stall holder should contact Jessica Papadopoulos, 0425 756 578 or Deborah Watson, 0412 360 398 for further information.
