Tall storey to grow

A NINE storey office tower is set to transform Sunshine’s skyline, after the controversial Metrowest project was sold last month.
Owners LTD Corporation last week confirmed the site had been sold to an undisclosed buyer, believed to be from interstate, or an international company.
The $150 million development was put on the market in August, following financial problems.
Dubbed the triple towers, the project had been plagued by controversy since it was unveiled in December 2005.
In 2006, the council received more than 130 objections to the plan from residents and community groups.
Located next to the Sunshine Marketplace Shopping Centre, the mixed use development includes plans for commercial and residential towers, along with shopping and car parking facilities.
A Metrowest spokesman said the site had been sold in September following an expression of interest process conducted by Raine and Horne Commercial and Jones Lang LaSalle real estate agencies.
