Caroline Springs land sets record

A RECORD price for land has been set at Caroline Springs, reaffirming the development as one of Melbourne West’s most sought after residential communities.
The record price of $430,000 was achieved by the sale of a 955sqm block of land with dual water frontage, located at Caroline Springs’ premium village, The Bridges.
The sale beat Caroline Springs’ previous record price of $354,000 set early last year.
Caroline Springs project director Martin Gaedke said although the project had secured a record land price, it continued to offer buyers choice in land sizes and locations with some of the most affordable land in the western corridor.
The buyer of the record-breaking block, Sunarjadi Setiawan, said Caroline Springs offered an attractive mix of natural beauty and amenities that his family was looking for.
“Caroline Springs has beautiful landscapes and views with easy access to the city and plenty of shops close by,” Mr Setiawan said.
“We thought the mix was right for us. We’re really looking forward to living here.”
Caroline Springs, which is 22 kilometres from the CBD, is an 800-hectare development encompassing 13 villages around Lake Caroline.
It will be home to more than 23,000 people in 8000 homes by around the year 2013.
The region is expected to house more than 50,000 people by 2015.
Caroline Springs is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease.
