What will Geoff do for the Tweed?

I have been waiting with increasing impatience to hear what our sitting Member, Geoff Provest, is going to do for the Tweed when he is elected this year and when his party is part of the government.
There seems to be little doubt that the incumbent Labor Government will not survive past March and it is imperative that we know what will replace it.
So far there have been no commitments from Geoff Provest at all as to what his O’Farrell government will deliver for the Tweed. There have been no promises for funding. There have been no promises for extra resources.
All there has been are promises to “look into” things. He has promised that his party will have a good look at taking over the current SCU site to expand the hospital. He has promised to review the current Tweed’s brothel regulations. Of course, he has also committed a Coalition government to consider pensioner rates discounts.
What he has failed to do is promise to deliver anything. His promises from the last election are already in tatters and do not look like they can be delivered. He can’t get the extra police he has promised because that is dealt with by an independent authority. The most he can get is a commitment to fund an evaluation of getting a train back to the North Coast.
Why won’t he come out and tell us what he will deliver for the Tweed and when is he going to do it? Talk is cheap – actions and delivery speak louder than words.
It’s time for him to come clean with the people of the Tweed and make some commitments.
