Young fundraisers lead the way

Salvation Army representative, Deborah Robinson accepted a donation of over $700 that was raised recently from the accumulated efforts of students from Centaur Primary School.
With the assistance of his senior peers, Year 3 student Jack Lee donated and collected toys to sell with the goal
to raise funds for the
children of the Queensland floods.
Mrs Robinson said she was impressed with the great display of community spirit and the initiative showed by one child whose idea resulted in this wonderful fundraiser.
Jack announced, “It’s really great that the students at Centaur all bought the toys because now all the flood victim children can buy some new toys with donations we collected.”
Jacks mum, Sandy Lee, who is also a teacher at Centaur said “I am really proud of everyone at Centaur for donating so much money to help other people.
As Jack’s parent, I was very proud of his personal ambition to bring a school community together, with a purpose to help others in need.
Jack’s kind and generous spirit is so typical of most students at Centaur, who all rallied together with School Leaders to make this fundraiser a great success.
Flood Victims can now be blessed with more donations to help them
as they try to recover from their traumatic experiences.”
