I know I am not a plumber. When something starts to smell in my bathroom I get a plumber in and start asking them for advice. It’s pretty simple – I have a complex problem of which I have no personal knowledge of how to fix so I get in an expert and do what they advise me. That way I don’t have to put up with a plumbing problem with my loo.
Tony Abbott is willing to ignore the expert advice because he doesn’t like what it has to say about his policies. Most of the world accepts that we have well and truly damaged our planet with all this pollution. Most of us are not climate scientists. The people of the planet ask our climate scientists is there a problem and what should we do. Most people seem happy to listen to their advice.
But not Tony, no he goes on the attack and denies that the scientists have got it right. Forget that he is not a scientist, from all reports he was at best a third rate lawyer and really good rugby player. Forget that there is no respected scientific evidence to support his position that climate change is absolute crap. His approach is so arrogant that he genuinely believes what he says and he ignores any substantiated information that suggests he is wrong.
It is time to stand up against his arrogance. We know that polluting our planet is wrong and it is time that we did something about it.
