In just two weeks after making the decision to go in this year’s XXXX Variety Bash, Tweed woman Allana Cronan raised $1500 – without corporate sponsors.
Allana must raise $7500 to enter her slogan-clad Kombie in this year’s Bash which will take “Bashers” from Hervey Bay to Lightning Ridge and back to Gympie. It’s a big trip for a 1975 but Allana is determined to do it “for the kids”.
All money raised goes to Variety Queensland which helps sick, disadvantaged and special needs children.
And, while she would love a corporate sponsor to come on-board and help her out, (she has plenty of space on her van for the logo of any interested business) Allana has already been getting a lot of support from her friends – her bingo friends. Taking along her Variety Bash tins when she goes to Bingo at the Coolangatta-Tweed Golf Club each week – she has been getting a lot of help.
In fact all of her $1500 has come in coins and she’s hoping other bingo players around the Tweed and Tweed Coast will help her out.
As well as that, Allana will be in Centro Tweed over Easter with her trusty variety tins as well looking for local support. For further information, phone Allana on 0413 411 380.
