More than 50 skaters flocked to the seventh annual Beachside Skate Competition at Cabarita on Saturday.
Taking advantage of a beautiful Autumn day on the Tweed Coast, skaters came from all over for the event which organiser Pedro De Jesus of the Beachside Church has described as one of the best ever.
“We have 54 and we had wanted more than 40 so we are really happy with the turnout,” Pedro said.
“We have more than 250 spectators – it was great, it was definitely successful.
“A lot will hopefully come out of it – hopefully we will get some clinics going in the schools.”
He said, while there were a lot of individual competitors, the organisers were pleased to have teams involved too – including one from Murwillumbah and another from Ballina.
