Blues speedster Blitzes on safety

NSW Blues wicketkeeper Peter Nevill and fast bowler Joe Mennie were guests at Tweed River High School  last week to talk to students about the importance of slowing down on the roads.
“This is part of the RTA Speedblitz Blues On the Road program under which team members travel around the State to warn young fans about the dangers of speeding,” State member for Tweed Geoff Provest said.
“Since the initiative started eight years ago, Blues cricketers have spoken to more than 50,000 NSW students and I am looking forward to welcoming them to the Tweed.
“Speeding related crashes continue to be the biggest killer on NSW roads – particularly among young drivers.”
There were a range of activities during the visit including a bowling demonstration proving that accuracy is gained by slowing down, vividly illustrating the RTA’s ‘Slow down. Take control’ message.
