Performer speaks up

A thief stole more than a speaker when he or she broke into Kingscliff-based performer Jayne Henry’s car last week – they stole her livelihood.
The theft has left Jayne having to borrow speakers so she can continue to perform around the Gold Coast Tweed.
“I need this speaker to earn my living and just want it returned,” she said.
“These systems are unique digital technology and not many people have them.
“They have only been on the market for two years and are used for stage performance.”
Jayne herself has only had the new system a few weeks, after saving up to buy it.
“It is a light weight speaker – I hurt my back last year when I went on holidays with my disabled mother,”
she said.
The speaker was stolen from the back of her car some time between 11pm and 4am two weekends ago.
“I never ever leave it in the car,” she said.
“I have only had it six weeks.”
The thief only stole half of the system – leaving the extensions, which were sitting next to it on the backseat of her car, behind.
“They can’t use it, they only have half of it – and I can’t either,” she said.
“Unfortunately you can’t buy half the system, it comes as a set.
“If you have seen one of these in someone’s lounge room in the area, or in a second-hand store or market, then odds on it is mine and is stolen!
“I am offering a cash reward for its return, no questions asked.”
