Blue skies and clear days brought out the crowds to this year’s Arts Unlimited Festival of the Arts at Banora Point over the weekend.
Interested members of the public went a long to see just what the artisans at Arts Unlimited create and to pick up some hand-made art of their own.
And they weren’t disappointed, with demonstrations of everything from painting and pottery to sculpting from heeble blocks and silk painting as well as spinning, weaving, lacemaking and embroidery and everything in between.
There was even a display of outdoor clay firing and some friendly alpacas to meet. As well as the art, there was a chance to buy a hand-made bowl and enjoy some home-made curry.
Group president Bev McNamara said it was a highly successful weekend.
“All the groups were really well represented,” she said.
Bev said, while the Festival of the Arts happened once a year, the gallery was open every day for people looking to get a hand-made item or gift.
“Even if no-one is in our gallery, people can still get someone from the group that is there that day, to open up for them,” she said.
