David gets funky with the BassBoys

David Galea and the BassBoy Project have been described as a mix between jazz and funk, but the band’s heart remains deep within the worlds of jazz composition, interesting arrangements and improvisation.
After sell-out shows at the Brisbane Festival, Dave and the band will also present a special acoustic set, alongside their famous jazz set, at an intimate performance on the Gold Coast.
David has been playing bass for fifteen years and professionally for twelve. He has played across all genres, but specialises in blues, jazz, pop-funk and anything else that grooves.
Currently, he is working hard, writing and arranging for the BassBoy Band. David has played with each member of the band individually, but the result of this particular collaboration (the group’s first album, BassBoy – officially released in August last year to a packed crowd at Jazzworx) was so well received, that there is no denying, as a collective, this group really does have something special!
Don’t miss Dave Galea (double / electric bass), Clint Allen (trumpet / flugelhorn), Peta Wilson (piano / Rhodes) and Trent Bryson-Dean (drums) for a special night of original jazz, funk and blues at Live and Intimate in The Basement on Saturday, July 23.
