Council absurdity

It is encouraging to note that there is in fact one Councillor (Dorothy Robinson) who actually thinks about and critically analyses issues brought before Council.
“Am I Correct?” asks Councillor Robinson in her letter in the local press, 31 Aug. “Perhaps the community could let us know if they want Council to ban solar instillations in heritage areas”
Any intelligent, thinking and responsible citizen could only agree with Councillor Robinson’s sentiments and respond emphatically to Council re the absurdity of refusing to approve a DA for a solar air heater.
In the same Press publication as Councillor Robinson’s letter, Councillor Maher, Chair of Council’s Domestic Energy Committee, states “Council is committed to improving air quality in the city” and announces a new member to its Air Quality Team which “is charged with improving air quality in Armidale city in this new initiative”. I wonder has he actually read Council’s 2004 adopted Air Quality Policy. The mind boggles!
Hopefully many in the Community WILL take the time to respond to Council. Good luck!

Jan Kleeman,
Armidale
