Women of faith

380 women from across the Armidale Anglican Diocesan practised their faith and friendship at the annual Women’s Conference, which was held in Walcha last Saturday to coincide with sesqui-centenary (150 years) celebrations of the historic St Andrews Old Stone Chapel.
The Walcha Central School Multi Purpose Centre was packed to capacity with sessions provided by Janet Riley.
MC and one of the organisers of the conference Naomi McPherson was thrilled to see a large number of women come from across the region to attend.
“The theme of the conference was glorious freedom yesterday, today and tomorrow and we looked at how God has worked in the past here in Walcha and into the future,” Ms McPherson said.
A cake was cut by local Walcha resident Irene Hoy to celebrate the sesqui-centenary of the historic St Andrews Old Stone Chapel and the Walcha ladies have put together a book of local recipes to commemorate the historic milestone.
