In response to representations from the Dumaresq Progress Association, I inspected the dam with concerned community members.
I agree there are competing issues with dam security and the value of the dam to the environment and surrounding region. I am not satisfied we have canvassed all available options. Clearly the ADC can only proceed with what is affordable and safe, but there is time to look at a range of approaches.
To this end I asked our local MLC, Scot MacDonald to approach the Minister’s office and ask for a meeting. This was agreed to. If I am successful at the Local Government election on September 8, I will work with Council to make this meeting a priority.
