In response

Jane Salmon, while I respect your right to an opinion and read your letter to the Editor with interest, I can in no way agree with your broad statement that the Prime Minister’s self-serving speech was up there with Federation.
In my opinion she is undeserving of such an accolade. Her track record, so far, speaks for itself.
She very cleverly used feminism as the basis of her speech, thereby bringing out all the “rah rahs” in support, but those of us who were not fooled know that she is an agenda-ridden politician occupying the top job in the land.
The vitriol directed at the Opposition that day would have been enough to silence even a great orator, a quarter way through a speech.
