Plans are now in place for the grand opening of the 36th annual Rotary Club of Uralla Arts Exhibition on Friday evening, March 15 at the Memorial Hall, Salisbury Street, Uralla.
Uralla Memorial Hall doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start on Friday, March 15 when well known Sydney/coastal guest artist Phillip Thornton will officially open the exhibition.
Uralla Central School hospitality students will serve delicious finger food.
The evening will cost $20 per person at the door.
The club expects to display over 300 paintings, photographic and other artwork from artists across NSW and southern Queensland.
Rotary past president Peter Phillips said the whole town had got behind the annual exhibition with overwhelming financial support.
Sponsors include Uralla Bowling Club, New England Mutual Credit Union, Uralla Shire Council, Jobs Australia, Bill and Rae Andrews, Graham and Bev Carlon, Bob and Marie Wallace, Country Women’s Association, Uralla Neighbourhood Centre, and Uralla business community.
Local wineries, Merilba Estate Wines and WhyWorry Wines will provide wines for raffle and Friday evening’s official opening function.
Potential buyers from throughout New England, North West, Hunter Valley, and Mid-North Coast regularly visit Uralla for the exhibition.
Throughout the exhibition, raffles will be held. Prizes include a dinner voucher, grocery and meat vouchers.
The exhibition will open daily from 10am to 4pm Saturday, March 16 to Saturday March 23, and will close on Sunday March 24, with opening hours 10am to 2pm.
The admission fee will be $4 per person, with children under 12 years, free.
