YOU might have heard about MS (Multiple Sclerosis) but do you really know what it is?
Well, that’s what MS Awareness Month is all about, and it’s here now.
This year the Armidale District MS Branch is very lucky to have Bunnings’ Armidale store on board to help with awareness raising activities.
Bunnings are sponsoring MS Awareness month by running sausage sizzles in most of their stores throughout Australia.
They hope to raise over $50,000 for MS Research Australia to help find a cure for MS – that’s a lot of sausages!
Profits from the Bunnings Armidale Sausage Sizzle, which is to be held on Friday 10 May, will be shared between MS Research Australia and the Armidale District MS Branch to help local people who live with MS every day of their lives.
The Armidale District MS Branch is thrilled to also be supported by Milly Hill Lamb who will be supplying 200 of their gorgeous organic, free-range, chemical-free, prize-winning beef and lamb sausages for the sausage sizzle!
President of the Armidale District MS Branch Wendy Berkley wanted to say a special ‘thankyou’ to Milly Hill for their support and encouragement.
“This will be the most gourmet sausage sizzle Armidale has ever seen. Don’t miss this opportunity on 10 May folks.”
A raffle will also be run on the day of the sausage sizzle which will be supporting Liz White, who is planning to ride in the ‘MS Cycle de France’ between 26 June and 3 July. President Wendy Berkley said, “Liz needs to raise $5,000 in order to get on her way. We want to do all we can to help this amazing Armidale local achieve her dream, which will also benefit people with MS.”
The raffle, which will be drawn at the end of the day’s barbecuing, has a first prize of a stunning necklace generously donated by Junes Jewellery and second prize of two ‘Ozi-Cosy’ Blankets, kindly donated by Big W – just in time for winter!
