Barnaby to listen and learn

BARNABY Joyce will tour the electorate on a listening tour with a series of New England community forums.
The tour will take in 29 towns throughout the New England electorate and provide the opportunity for locals to voice their concerns over federal issues.
“This is a way the people can come along and ask that burning question,” Mr Joyce said.
“The first job of a politician is to be the people’s servant, and the only way you are going to do that is to listen. So listening is what I’m going to spend the next few months doing.
“We are travelling throughout New England and taking this very seriously. When I go to Canberra I want to be representing their views about how they want their nation to be run.
“No doubt I am going to get some very tough questions, and I am looking forward to that.
“We’ve also had a few requests to increase the number of towns and venues. So, now we’re also going to do that, to make sure the people of this electorate have their voice heard.”
Every household in New England has been mailed the times and locations of these forums, and everyone is welcome to attend.
The New England community forum tour will continue over the next two months.
