Dunny doors

Is it just me, or is there more than one person out there who is concerned about contracting germs from public toilet doors?
We have all had drinks in restaurants and bars and we’ve used their conveniences.
We have all been caught short and found it necessary to use  public toilets and amenities, not as sterile as those in our own homes; so why is it that councils, builders, architects and such like still haven’t worked out that the transmission of germs from dirty, unhygienic people can be prevented or significantly reduced by designing toilet doors that can be opened from the inside without grabbing hold of contaminated handles.
Perhaps I’m just a little anal about this subject but surely it can’t be too hard to work out that toilet doors could swing both ways with a nudge from the elbow whilst our clean hands can stay that way.

Another solution is to do what they do on cruise ships and place a hand basin and waste disposal next to the exit door to enable the use of a hand tissue to grip the handle when opening.

Just a little something to think about next time you’re in the throne room!
