Uralla groups receive bonuses

SIX Uralla community organisations have shared a total of $2,195.36 through this year’s Community Partnership Accounts.
The accounts were introduced in 2009 to give Community Mutual Group (CMG) members the opportunity to benefit their favoured community organisations.
Through the scheme members nominate a charity or community organisation they wish to support at their local branch.
At the end of the financial year the nominated organisation receives a figure equivalent to one per cent of members’ average annual balances. This comes at no cost to nominating members.
This year’s result for Uralla was well up on last year as more members and community groups took advantage of the scheme.
New England Mutual Uralla branch manager Jon Izzard said he expected the annual bonus to grow with increased awareness.
“We all know how hard volunteers work to support their local organisations,” he said.
“The benefit of this scheme is that the bonus is delivered at no cost to the CMG members who want to give their chosen community group a boost and assist with labour-saving fundraising.”
This year’s CPA recipients in Uralla include Computer Bank New England, the Red Cross Uralla, Friends of McMaugh, CanAssist Uralla, Uralla Historical Society and Uralla Foundry Museum.
