Stellar event sets pace

THE Armidale Fun Run has been hailed as a tremendous success by all stakeholders after 450 people took part in the inaugural event on Sunday.
Athletics NSW regional development officer and organiser Scott Westcott said it was more than likely the fun run would be an annual event after stellar support from the community.
“To have that many people take part in the first year is really encouraging and I think everyone I spoke to said it was a great event,” Mr Westcott said.
“We had terrific help from the Armidale Athletics Club, who assisted in provided the 70 volunteers and the council were also great in their support.”
On the track, there was a great mix of young and old taking part.
Some mums and dads even pushed their young ones in a pram.
