Choral music comes to life

THE vocal group of the Armidale Kodaly Chapter, the Kodac Singers, will perform at the Uniting Church on Sunday.
They will be singing music by Bach, Brahms, Victoria, Bartok, Tim Sherlock and Winter Winds by local composer Stella Quast, which won the composition prize in this year’s Armidale eisteddfod.
The singers in the group are Tammy Kilpatrick, Rowena Tall and Constance Rolfe, Amy Walsh, Megan Ainsworth, Inge Southcott, Bruce Myers and Alastair Finco.
All are members of the Kodaly Armidale Chapter which aims to make people aware of the usefulness of Zoltan Kodaly’s ideas for music-making in the community.
The chapter is proud to announce that on 15-16 March next year, James Cuskelly will be running a workshop Music Matters at the Old Teacher’s College for anyone interested in improving their musical skills.
Sunday’s performance at 12.30pm is an opportunity to hear some terrific choral music performed by passionate musicians.
Admission to the concert is free, though donations are encouraged.
