Triple the limit

In brief

POLICE have arrested a 37-year-old Armidale man for high range drink-driving after a random breath test on Saturday night.
Acting Inspector John Walkowiak said police pulled over the man at 10.55pm on Canambe Street, where he registered a alcohol reading above the legal limit.
The driver was taken back to the Armidale police station, where he recorded an alleged reading of 0.174 PCA – more than three times the legal limit.
Less than 90 minutes later, a 44-year-old woman was arrested with low range drink-driving, recording 0.078 PCA after a random breath test on Barney Street.
Both were bailed and will appear in Armidale Court at a later date.

Pool rego blitz
ARMIDALE Dumaresq mayor Laurie Bishop has called on the community to register their pools.
All backyard pools and spas in NSW are now required to be registered on the NSW Swimming Pool Register.
“Registering is simple and easy. To register your pool, all you need to know is the address, the size of the property, the type of pool you own (e.g. in-ground, spa pool), whether any work has been done to your pool barrier, and how old your pool is,” Cr Bishop said.
Failing to have your pool registered can attract a fine of up to $220.
