NO amount of watering is the same as rain! How lucky are we compared to western Queensland and NSW folk who have only been teased so far. Fingers crossed for them may they have a good wet and green Christmas.
Walking around the garden this morning lilies, cornflowers, evening primrose, foxgloves, aquilegias, lavenders, hollyhocks, hebes, penstemons, forget-me-nots, armerias, dianthus, nepetas, daylilies, hydrangeas, hippeastrums, escalonias, geraniums, poppies, ageratum, alpine phlox, pelargoniums, salvias, sun hardy daphne, african daisies, coriander, sprekelias, agapanthus, dietes, hearts ease, geum, clematis, broom, violas, convolvulus, statice, aloes, Indigofera, agastache, crowea, marguerite daisies, ballon flowers, wallflowers, anemones, felicias, english daisies, fennel, gazanias, achilleas, gardenias, mollis azaleas, star jasmine, buddlejas, pomegranates, artichokes, a multitude of very healthy weeds and masses of my beloved roses are doing their best to brighten my day!
Some of these are just budding up and some are nearing the end of their flowering making an ever changing palette of textures, colours and perfumes for us to enjoy – all with a fresh green backdrop.
The local nurseries have a good array of plants available and with the good soil moisture there is no better time to add to your garden.
If you are not yet inspired, go for a walk or a drive and see the beauty others have created.
