Artisans share unique gifts

ARMIDALE Pottery Club’s annual exhibition and sale is on again this Saturday, with the best works on display up for grabs.
Club spokesperson Carl Merten said visitors would be able to find the perfect Christmas gift.
“This is an opportunity to see the quality and diversity of pottery produced by the Armidale Pottery Club,” he said.
“It provides a chance to find Christmas gifts that are truly unique, locally made and quite affordable.”
Mr Merten said the one-day event would also provide an opportunity to meet some of the experienced local potters and discuss becoming a member or possibly signing up for a workshop next year.
“There is a real wealth of experience and specialised expertise in the Armidale Pottery Club,” he said.
“Some brilliant glazes have been perfected. There are members who have been with the club for decades and refined their skills in different areas.”
The exhibition and sale will be held in the home of the Armidale Pottery Club; an unusual out-building on the Beardy Street (rear) side of the Armidale Aquatic Centre.
It can be accessed from the Aquatic Centre Car Park, off Dumaresq Street.
Additionally, there is pedestrian access across the bridge over Dumaresq Creek, across from the TAFE entrance.
