ALMOST 40,000 visitors filed through the doors of the New England Art Museum in 2013, it has been revealed.
Attendance rates soared by 10 per cent on last year as the museum celebrated its 30th year.
NERAM director Caroline Downer said 60 per cent of the visitors were local, 36 per cent were from around Australia and four per cent came from overseas.
There were 33 exhibitions held at the museum this year, as well as 500 activities and events.
Highlights for the year included the Archibald Prize exhibition, which visited Armidale for the first time, as well raising $400,000 for Margaret Olley’s piece The Yellow Room Triptych.
“We just couldn’t do all of this without our wonderful supporters and volunteers,” Ms Downer said.
