ARMIDALE’S Christian leaders might have differing views, but their message will be the same this Christmas.
Catholic Bishop Michael Kennedy and Anglican Bishop Rick Lewers said they would both emphasise joy in their Christmas services.
“I really want to channel Pope Francis who recently commented that this Christmas was a good time for all Christians to renew their relationship with Jesus Christ,” Bishop Kennedy said.
“The birth of Jesus reminds us of God’s love for all of us.”
Bishop Lewers said he wanted all Christians to have a life full of joy.
“There is no joy if you don’t have Jesus in your life,” he said.
“To quote John 10:10, Jesus said ’I came that they may have life and have it abundantly’.
“Christmas is a reminder of God’s gift to us and how we must celebrate life.”
Both Bishops said they expected their respective cathedrals to be full on Christmas morning.
