CHRISTMAS is coming to Walcha on Saturday as the monthly farmers’ market prepares to turn on the festive spirit.
The markets will open at 8.30am with coffee and egg and bacon rolls available, along with the usual market stalls.
From 9.30am Jordie Brazel will conduct a children’s decoration making workshop where kids can join in and create their own Christmas decorations.
Santa will arrive in the park at 10am followed by Sing Australia performing carols.
“Santa will be a big hit at the markets as he will be accompanied by his furry friends – little lambs and goats – whom kids can pat and have their photos taken with,” farmers’ market president Paula Jenkins said.
“The committee will be taking professional photos of children with Santa, which is optional and at a small cost, which will be emailed to the recipient after the market,” she said.
“Santa will be giving children home-made treats, made by the committee, to enjoy at the markets.”
Real Christmas trees will be available to purchase at the market, along with gourmet Christmas hampers available from the community stall.
“Our Christmas hampers have been created with a beautiful mix of market stall produce, along with other homemade and gourmet goodies, so they will appeal to everyone,” co-president Olivia Nivison said.
