ARMIDALE’S top citizens will be recognised at a citizenship and award ceremony at the racecourse on Australia.
The ceremony will begin at 11am, followed by a fun day of family activities, including pony rides, face-painting, a jumping castle, animal farm, dog show and merry-go-round.
Local band Terra Firma will provide the entertainment. Entries in the Australia Day colouring-in competition will also be on display with the winners announced on the day.
Chair of Armidale Dumaresq Council’s Australia Day Committee Colin Gadd invited the community to come along on Sunday to celebrate Australia Day.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to recognise the wonderful achievements of our outstanding citizens and to welcome new citizens as they pledge their commitment to Australia,” Cr Gadd said.
“Australia Day gives us an opportunity to celebrate what it is to be Australian and embrace our vibrant multicultural society.”
