ONE of the most popular sporting competitions in Armidale returns to the field next week.
The SportUNE twilight soccer tournament is back, starting next Tuesday.
There will be open men, women and mixed competitions, while juniors can play in the under-10, 12, 14 and 16s.
SportUNE development officer Brad King said the twilight series was the perfect way to warm up and get fit for the winter competitions.
“We always get good numbers playing out here because it serves as a great pre-season,” he said.
“The matches are competitive, but still fun and enjoyable, which is our aim.”
The under-10s, 12s and women’s matches will be played on Tuesdays, while the men’s competition will be on Wednesdays.
The under-14s, 16s and mixed matches will be played on Thursday evenings.
The competiton starts next week and runs for nine weeks until 7 April.
The cost of registering a junior team is $360, while a senior team is $460, which includes a pizza and presentation night.
To register, go to www.unisport.com.au/sportune or call Brad King on 6773 5181.
Registrations close on Friday.
