Make reading fun

Your Library

WELCOME to the New Year.
As the school year begins, your local public library swings into children’s action.
Be part of the fun and activity at the Armidale Library this year with cool stuff for children to do each week and in the holidays.
During school term times, the ever popular story time and 3D papercraft sessions for 3-5 year olds run every Tuesday from 10.30am to 11.30am.
All pre-schoolers and their parents are welcome to join in and have a great time reading, singing along with rhymes, and creating something wonderful to take home.
There’s education, entertainment and a sense of accomplishment all wrapped up in an engaging hour.
Then on Wednesday afternoons there is an explosion of colour and craft in the upstairs room with Origami fun from 3.30-4.30pm and Zany Zen doodles and drawing at 4pm-5pm.
All materials and instruction are provided by the children’s librarian.
Parents are encouraged to come along and participate with their children in these intensely creative sessions.
Massed origami creations from previous terms will also be on display in increasing numbers as the term goes by. Be part of a heart-felt community activity and come along.
New babies are also cordially invited to come to the Ten Minutes a Day sessions beginning on 6 February. These smaller group times will help your baby enjoy the feel of board books, the sound of nursery rhymes and song, and the company of their first new baby friends.
These sessions start at 10.30am on Thursday and will be held on February 6, 13, 20 and 27. Bring your baby along and have a lovely time.
