EVERY so often, some magic happens.
That’s the way Peter Thompson described the inaugural UNE summer retreat, held earlier this month.
And he wasn’t alone in praising the organisation, spirit and engagement of participants during the two and a half day retreat held at the University of New England, based around the theme – A Deeper Conversation about Change.
More than 60 participants were able to question and explore personal and organisational practices while imagining futures that created hope and energy, he said.
Through dialogue and action learning, those who attended had access to business leaders and academics renowned for their capacity to generate change.
“The presentations and willingness of all participants to contribute to build a deeper understanding of change for the benefit of all was both powerful and challenging,” Dr James Hunter said.
“I left Armidale brimming with enthusiasm and a head full of ideas to reflect and draw upon to positively contribute to the myriad and nuanced challenges posed by organisational change.”
Those thoughts were echoed by Mr Thompson.
“People came together, shared conversation and ideas at a deep level and left refreshed and renewed,” he said.
“It was a weekend that I will long remember for connecting my mind and heart.”
