GUYRA is into the grand final of the second grade competition after thrashing Hillgrove in the major semi-final on Saturday.
Opener Kyle Taylor (103) smashed a century, while Mat Jackson (71) provided middle order support to lead the Spuds to 207 at Harris Park.
In reply, the Colts were no match as they were bundled out for a paltry 55.
Skipper Andrew Byrne (18) tried to steady the ship, but the bowling of Jackson (4/7) and Tyson Burey (3/10) proved too hot to handle.
Hillgrove gets to make amends in this Saturday’s preliminary final against Ex-Services, who caused an upset in the minor semi-final, defeating the Barbarians.
In third grade, the tables were turned in the major semi as Hillgrove hammered Guyra to book a grand final berth.
After sending Guyra into bat on its home deck, the Colts backed up skipper Mick Sharman’s decision by skittling the Spuds for 59.
Richard Heagney took 4/13, while Nat Warren and Sharman eached nabbed two wickets.
In reply, Hillgrove scored the winning runs with ease.
Anthony Stewart was the leading runscorer with 27.
Guyra will now face TAS Blue in the preliminary final, with the winner to face the Colts in the grand final.
TAS Blue earned its preliminary final berth after defeating TAS White in the minor semi-final.
