ARMIDALE was buzzing on the weekend as hundreds of students from the University of New England returned to the city for their graduation ceremonies.
There was barely a vacant room in Armidale as the graduates came with family and friends to celebrate on the lawn of iconic homestead Booloominbah.
Television personality Xanthe Mallett, who is also UNE’s senior lecturer in Forensic Criminology, delivered the occasional address on Friday for graduates of Arts, Humanities, Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences.
Law and Business graduates had their turn on Saturday, with former New England MP Tony Windsor delivering the occasional address.
Saturday’s ceremony also completed retiring UNE vice chancellor Jim Barber’s final official duties.
More graduation ceremonies will be held at UNE this weekend.
