ARMIDALE trainer Stafford Wain is hoping a drop in class will be the key to finding success with Latitat.
The five-year-old gelding finished fifth in the Guyra Cup and eighth in the Armidale Cup, but drops back to a Benchmark 65 Handicap (1900m) at Armidale on Monday.
A winner of five of his 24 races, Latitat has been out of the winners’ circle since 25 June last year, when he won over 1400m at Tamworth.
The gelding will be backing up on Monday after running in a 1600m event at Tamworth yesterday against Dusty’s Felt, who won the Armidale Cup.
