Members flock to big screen

MOVIE buffs have flocked to the new Armidale Film Club, with 266 members subscribed in the first month.
The Belgrave Cinema was buzzing for the premier film of the year – Frances Ha.
More members are expected to sign up as the club released its upcoming screenings – Her (April), Red Obsession (May), Nebraska (June), The Prisoners (July) and Stoker (August).
Her is set in Los Angeles of the near future and the story follows Theodore Twombly, a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people.
Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he develops a relationship with an intelligent computer operating system with a female voice and personality.
Red Obsession is a 2013 Australian documentary film which collects interviews with winemakers and wine lovers across the world.
Nebraska, a comedy-drama road film, was nominated for the Palme d’Or in Cannes and for six Academy Awards.
An ageing, cantankerous father makes the long trip from Montana to Nebraska with his estranged son to claim a million dollar magazine sweepstakes.
An annual subscription of $80 to the Armidale Film Club will give you access to the monthly screenings of AFC films – choose between a Monday at 5.30pm or a Wednesday at 7pm.
