Kingscliff painter recognised

Kingscliff’s Danny from MCS Painting Services has been nominated for the 2011 Dulux Accredited Painter of the Year Award.
Nominees are acknowledged as the best of the best in the industry across the entire business operations from customer service, sales, marketing and advertising, financial management, productivity improvement, health and safety and the environment.
The winner will be announced at an award ceremony held at Melbourne’s Crown Casino on  August 26.
“Winning the 2011 Dulux Accredited Painter of the Year award would allow us to showcase more of our work to the re-paint market though an advertising campaign,” Danny said. “It also would be good recognition of the high standards we aim to achieve as Dulux Accredited painters.”
Danny said his company MCS Painting had been nine years in the making, so far, and had grown from one man to an eight-man team – with the help of being a Dulux Accredited painter.
“I have a long history of painters in the family, so becoming one was a natural progression as a career choice,” he said. “The most rewarding part of being a painter is seeing a house turned into a home in the way that people use colour to make their own mark on a property.”
And what makes a top painter? “My three top tips for painting are preparation, preparation and preparation. Cutting corners on this will see you wasting your time and money,” Danny said.
