THE relaunch of Armidale Young Professionals was hailed a “massive success” after more than 60 people gathered last Friday for the networking gathering at NERAM Harvest.
Young men and women from all sections of the community – students, office workers, farmers and retail staff – came together for the comeback gathering of the group.
“It was amazing to have such a great turnout,” an AYP spokesperson said.
“We were overwhelmed with the amount of support we had.”
The network will have monthly gatherings and plans on expanding, possibly with a new name, to make it more open to the community.
“We might shift away from the term young, because it’s hard to define what is young,” the spokesperson said.
“There is also a bit of a stigma that AYP is just for white collar workers, but that’s not the case at all.
“If you are a street sweeper or a checkout person, you are also welcome, because that is your profession.”
The next gathering of Armidale Young Professionals is at the Armidale Bowling Club on Thursday 24 April from 6pm.
