SUBMITTING multiple entries was the key to success for Allan Byrnes, who became the first winner of the Armidale Independent footy tipping competition this week.
Mr Byrnes said after a number of upsets in the NRL season, the only way he could have tipped eight winners was by entering a handful of times.
The avid St George Illawarra fan picked up $250 from competition sponsor New England Mutual after the prize jackpotted after the first four rounds.
“It will go towards bills,” Mr Byrnes said.
